Hello All,
I have a 2000 GT that finally needed an engine after 200K miles. I swapped in a 05 P71 and used all of the GT parts in the swap. Since I have swapped in the P71, the GT has been slower (time & speed) at the track. NOthing has been changed on the car, but I am running 3-4 tenths of a second slower than the original set-up. My compression is great (~180) on all cylinders, with no electrical or DTC issues. I know that PI engines supposedly have the same cams from engine to engine, even between Romeo or Windsor. Are there any other variables between a 2000 Windsor GT and a 2005 P71 engine that I am missing. If it helps, it is noticable on the top end that the engine seems to be falling off sooner that the GT did. I starting to wonder if i was sold an LX Vic engine vs. an Interceptor (any way i can tell?).
Any help or info that anyone has would be great. Race season is coming up soon, and would like to get this ironed out before then if possible.
Thank You!!
