dont go over 275...265 is what manufacturers recommend. if you put a 315 it will bulge more than a 400 pound lady in Jessica Alba's jeans and wont help you out in traction because the tread patch will be similar to a 275.

295 will be the widest I would go, they will bludge but will look alright thats what I plan to get next time I need new rear tires anything over that is pushing it.
Please don't put Jessica Alba and 400lb women in the same sentence. You just ruined two good months of "Happy Time". Now I'll have to think about my wife.
the 18" y2k cobra r's are 9.5 and a 295-305 would be fine on that. It kinda matters what brand of tire you want to run as most manufacturers sizes vary quite a bit ie nitto 315 is way smaller then bfg 315
