This is not my car. This car belongs to a friend of mine who is going to restore the car with his dad.
But since im the friend with the mustang, i'll be helping him alot with the work.

He picked the car up for $2000. It has 95xxx original miles and most parts are still from the factory (as i recall).
It's got the original 289ci V8 in it, and looks like it needs major attention.

The car itself was rarely driven by the previous owner. The car does not start right now.
Yesterday we removed the carburetor and cleaned out all the old fluids in the car. We put new gas in it and have yet to put in some new oil.
The battery works fine, the serpentine belt & fan also work, but upon trying to turn it on, the car will not start.

That left us to believe it was the starter, but it cannot be accessed easily, so we may take the car to a mustang shop to get it checked out tomorrow.
The shop is the same one that is going to be doing all the body, engine, and paint work. I believe they are charging just around $4000 for all the labor.

Anyways, here is the old coupe in its very worst stage.
We still have alot of cleaning up to do before we work on it.
Its a complete mess inside the engine & under the car.

My friend is in the process of moving. It just so happened the owners of the house he's moving into had an old coupe they didnt want anymore.
My friend offered to take it off their hands, and they gave it to him for a real sweet price, so now it just sits there waiting for us to take care of it

So much potential.... That horse in the front grill looks like a 94-98 grill insert. An original v8 car for that price is stoooopid cheap. If it was a fastback I would probably steal it. hehe

A little update on the 67.

Today my friend officially moved into his new house. The house itself is still under a bit of renovation.
On the good side, one of the guys who is working on renovating it, is familiar with engines and is helping with the motor part of the coupe.

My friend told me that yesterday the car finally started!! I didnt have a chance to hear it start today but i managed to snap a few more pictures.
They got it running with new oil, spark plugs, a new battery, a new starter i believe, and a new intake.

Old batter vs. new battery:

The car should see paint very soon. I believe they are going to pull the motor and work on it in the garage while the car is sent off to get some body work and paint done.
The coupe should be up and running with a new paint job around summer if everything goes well.

Sweet I havent seen this build yet very nice

It's probably because not too much goes on in this build. He's taking this restoration really slowly, but i'm sure it'll be worth it in the end.

Dang that thing is in good condition.. i'm assuming no rust since it's a cali car?

I haven't looked at it close enough, but from what i've seen, there are no major rust spots.

Can't wait to see this finished. Best of luck.

Thanks man! I'll keep everyone update :)

So they got the car running about 2 weeks ago and my friend & his dad did not want to put up with the car anymore.
They went ahead and sold it last weekend for $3000.

It was pretty random and i was really looking forward to seeing the final product but oh well.
This concludes the build for this 1969 coupe.

Lol Dal. :p

My buddy sold this car, bought a G35, put some wheels and tires on it, sold that, and now has an E36 M3.
