Well I've been browsing around reading posts and learning for the last couple of weeks and finally signed myself up. I live outside of Columbia, SC, and I recently got rid of a 2003(?) trailblazer because of mechanical problems. I spent a few weeks searching for any convertible I could find in my area, and letting a mechanic friend check them each out so I wasn't digging myself an automotive grave, since this would be a daily driver. Pretty much stuck to mustangs after exploring options the first week, and after weeks or searching and frustration, I finally took him to look at one of the first cars I found- a 1995 Mustang Convertible. Wasn't too hot about the car at first, but since I was able to get it for alot cheaper than initially thought, I was able to put some money into repainting the car from a Seafoamy Green/Teal, to a nice bright blue. Eventually I found myself scouring the web for info on mustangs and after coming across this forum and a few others, I've caught the fever.

Part two of that story is when a few weeks later my Dad backed his 2011(?) challenger into my freshly painted car. $1,400 later, (thank you state farm!), The car has been fixed up, repainted, and I found myself with enough left over to buy me some 20" Venti Rims off of craiglist with some nice almost-new low-profile tires for a sweet $500. The car still needs quite a bit of work, and isn't anything special. But I do intend to put the time and money into it to turn it into a real looker. I love how I already get compliments on my car from random people, so I'm really putting my heart into getting her fixed up good now.

A little background on me- I liketo think that I came out ahead in the 'common sense' department, but I have little to no experience with Cars Engines, Electrical, or steros. I'm getting more confident on trying some things I've found on this site, but for the harder things I'll be relying on that mechanic friend I mentioned earlier. I like to think eventually I wont need his assistance as much as I learn and get myself some tools to use. I was born and raised in Lexington, SC, but I'm living more in West Columbia now with my girlfriend. I'm good with computers, play Xbox, and smoke a little too much weed.

As for the car, I'm not really looking at doing any speed/engine-based mods in the near future. I have a few mechanical issues to get out of the way first, (I need new balljoints, shocks, powersteering pump, and I've been having some slight transmission issues), but once that is taken care of I intend to fix up the interior by switching all of my grey trim with black through junkyard parts, or a re-painting, replace my grey carpet with black, and feplace my grey-turning-purple (go figure) seats with- you guessed it, black. Before all that, I'm planning to do my first DIY mod and replace the Gauge Cluster and HVAC lights with super-bright LEDs. Eventually I'll go looking for a new headunit(thats what the cd-player part is called, right? *shrug*) and try a double-din bezel replacement. Past all of that is a far-future dream but I'd like to eventually upgrade my rear differentials as my first major mod, then move into other considerations.

Wow, I didn't expect to get into everything that deep! Anyways, thats my intro.

Sell the bling bling rims.... sort the tranny problem out first. Bling bling can wait.

Wasn't having any issues when i got them, but I'll be sorting it out right quick. No more bling til it's fixed.

And thanks, the5.ohh! I'm loving the color, too.

Welcome fellow v6! Post more pictures :) Like the colour! Nice rims! I think the black interior will be a nice swap. If you're looking to put some life into the v6 check out myself and the other great group of v6ers on here.

I've learned a lot by just reading the threads before joining. I didn't really go for a mustang at the time when I was looking for a car, but after finding forums like this I'm glad I got my pony. It's pretty awesome to find some much info on how to modify your mustang how you like and for there to be so many resources. This is my favorite forum so far!

Unfourtunatly yes. To be honest I heard about a '95 V8 I could snatch for 900$ with a steering column issue. I'm considering having a mechanic friend look it over and see if I can sell my V6 and have enough left over to fix any problems and re-paint her. You can just go further with a V8 it seems. Once you get past the visual things you're just playing catch-up.

You smoke too much weed and you have 20's on your car?

;) J/K Welcome!

Been clean and sober for about half a year now, actually. Gotta tie up some loose ends before I'll be back to smokin' up. Like I said, the 20s were just kind of there and available. I'd prefer 17/18s but I actually like the 20s more than I'd expected. If I could find a trade for something I like a little smaller I'd think about it but I'm happy with it.

No worries. You can tell me they look like shit and I won't really care. It's only your opinion. I was a bit worried when i got them at the size but it looks good to me. Whats your opinion on the raxiom halo headlights? *takes cover*

(Sorry, shitty cellphone pic, my camera broke and I need to exchange it.)
