How hard is it to swap a 97 cobra tranny in a 97 GT?

It'd be easier to just swap the tailshaft housing off a GT on to it. It's all a little different and causes a quick install to be none existent. Is it already manual or an auto?

My car is a manual. I need a tranny and found a trimec t-45 w/ Brass synchros out of a 98 cobra for 300. How hard is it to swap that tail shaft?

Tail shaft is easy if it's anything like the t5

Besides the Speedo gear inside I have no clue..

Just swap the tail housing and your done. Remove the shifter, knock the roll pin out of the shifter base below that, unbolt the tail housing, then re assemble.

The reason is the cobra's cross member mount is different.

Yea on the newer cars the cross member setup is super gay. But like they said you'll need to use ur back half of the casing because of the cross member. It's really easy once you knock the roll pin out. And unbolt it . Just make sure to silicone the case when you put it back together or shit gets messy.
