I was thinking about buying a Laguna Seca, but I talked to a guy I know that works at a Ford dealership. Turns out they're going to ask MSRP +$20K. That's retarded. I can buy a used SL65 AMG for that money.

Paul.

The Laguna Seca probably is $12k more than the base Boss, BUT, that +$20k is most likely a dealer mark up that is on top of that.

I will wait 3-4 years and then get one. There will be some on ebay, just like when the Ford GT came out and they were near $300,000 from a dealership, now they're ~$125,000

That's what I mean. The dealer is was going to sell their Laguna for full sticker PLUS a 20 grand markup. That's just retarded.

I saw an '07 (I think it was '07... or '08?) SL63 AMG, twin-turbo V12, 600+ horsepower, charcoal gray with oxblood red leather, customer wheels, and $50K in upgrades on Autotrader for $79K. The car had 22,000 miles and an original sticker price of $196K.

Don't buy anything until you finish the Notch.

Because lord knows if I had a sexy SL AMG, I could give two shits about touching a Fox-body again.

Most dealers do that. Look at the Shelby GT500's, the Shelby GT's, the Ford GT, all the specialty cars usually get a dealer mark up.
