ok so i was going to do gears today but that fell apart. so basically its going to be two weeks before i can install. soooooo i got to thinking if i have to wait then i might as well wait a little longer and do some more stuff. my thoughts are i can just over the next couple months buy a c clip eliminator kit moser 31 spline axles and then either a carbon kevlar 31 pline T-lok carrier or a trutrac. what do you guys think.

If your not going to race it and you have moderate power sub 400, keep the 28 spline axles and save the money. If your dead set on having a mod to say you have big axles, then yea go ahead buy the 31's but no need to eliminate the c clips. they will work fine.

It's a street strip build. Initially just h/c/i then later 306 or mild stroke with a blowzilla.

31 here, and no need for the c clips.

you probably wanna look into some 3" studs. you'll have some problems hooking up witht he street tires.

Yeah street tires aren't going to do much. So the trutrac isn't worth double the cost of a 31 spline lsd

I dont see it for what your going to be doing on the street with the car. If you want get the Moser 28 spline axles. They claim to be stronger then stock. As far as the stregnth of trutrac

Oh sorry, I forgot to post about the trutrac.

I have been very pleased with mine in the time when I drove the car.
Well worth the money. It did great on snow-ice-rain.

It all depends on your application and your budget,if any.
I got mine off here from a guy that sold his stang and got a great deal on it.

If a deal comes along that's a different story. Ah piss I dunno in all reality I may never be able to do the h/c/i swap let alone the blowzilla. I think since no matter what bolts I do it's not going to break the stock 28's so I'll just gear it and if the need arises go 31. I am going to weld the tubes tho.

Even if you decide you want to sae some money and keep your trac loc, just rebuild it with new clutches and upgrade to the 28 spline mosers. I have put many passes on my 28 splines with 325/50/15 MT drag radials launching at 5000 and havent broken them yet!!

Jesus! That's a testimony right there. That is probably the plan. I don't see me turning this car into a strip queen. I have an ugly 72 coupe for that.

Yeah look at duffy what he ran with a stock tranny and stock rear end did the same thing.

Like me. I wasn't ever planning on going boosted with mine but a deal fell in my lap and i had to pick it up. I had already had my whole rear end rebuilt with the Carbon Clutch in the trac lok and installed 3.73's. I am leaving my wink link in which is my clutch so the clutch will pop before anything else hopefully.
