yup, 23 tooth for the 3:73 and 4:10. it should be pretty accurate with the 373's. The 410's still need a speed cal

Not if it's an AODE. Then he needs a 21 tooth gear.

Actually you need 2 gears to make it accurate (you also need 2 gears with the 4:10s as well). A 21 tooth and a 7 tooth drive gear. I had just one of the gears I needed on my T5 w/ 3:73 gears and it is still 5 mph off in town and 7 off on the interstate (according to GPS). I have both gears but haven't installed them because one goes in the tail housing of the transmission and I was quoted $500 to drop the trans, pull it all apart, put it in, reassemble the trans, and reinstall the transmission back into the car. I'm waiting till I gotta rebuilt the trans anyways (or I'm gonna get 4:10s).


I say get a SpeedCal for a fraction of the cost of the gear install. But you need 2 gears. Not one.

that's correct, with the stock 8 tooth drive gear the closest you can calibrate for is 3.55s, so a white 23 tooth speedo gear will get you close but won't be perfect.

It plugs in the Vehicle speed sensor, I have one in my car and it's bang on! I went through one of those school zone things with my speedo RIGHT on 40kph and it said I was going 39 .

I've been using one for over a year, people [inc some on here] kept saying the opposite to what the sellers website was telling me.
It does work on the auto's definately and is super accurate in comparison to the gears which always seemed a little out, its not as cheap as the gears, but after the second one chewed up i'd had enough so i spent the money.
