It will be notched for the dog bones to sit between the roller lifters, and the two holes will be threaded for the spline that holds the dog bones down.

I Think the part numbers on the block start with F4TE - if you dont have the engine taken apart.

I know F4 is correct. that is a dead give-away bc F4 stands for 1994 and that was the year they started making the blocks.

I hope, for your sake, that it isnt a F4 block. True it wont be a roller, but hopefully its older than 74... That way you get one of the stronger available blocks.

No matter what block it is it can handle more power than a factory 302 block, even a f4 block can make over 550rwhp you just cant turn 7000-8000 rpm's if you want it to live.

Gimme a break, the newest windsor blocks can withstand plenty of power. It's not like the thing is gonna snap like a twig at some arbitrary horsepower number. The legend of blocks falling apart IMMEDIATELY at some horsepower number is stupid. Plenty of people have made tons and tons of power for a long time on stock 302 and 351 blocks. Go read "the stock block chronicles" on turbomustangs. The internetz has made everything think that Ford engine blocks are made of bubble gum and duct tape.

Absolutely.

You know how many people don't believe Modo made 560RWHP consistantly on a 140K stock 302 from Ford, never rebuilt?

When he put his R block 331 in his car that stock 302 was still in perfect condition. :dontknow:

A local guy in Tucson (Tommy2pd) made 691 rwhp on a stock block, stock crank, twin sequential-turbo 302 for OVER A YEAR before it finally had the typical failure up the front of the block and down the valley. Even then, all it did was lose oil pressure - no catastrophic failure. He was making a ton of horsepower for a really long time before that on the same motor.

Exactly I have a friend who has a 93 coupe with a stock block 306 forged rods and pistons making 600hp with a 70mm turbo on 20lbs. of boost and has been for over a year with no problem.
