4.10's or 3.73's

I have a dd 96 mustang GT w/ 4.10's and they are awesome! i love them!

If this car is going to just be a weekend driver then there should be no question. Why go with 3.90 when 4.10 is that close? i average between 18-20mpg with mine. Crusing speed on the highway (70-75) is about 2800 to 3000 rpm. Most of the guys i have talked to wit 3.73 wish they would have gotten the 4.10's.

DONT FEAR THE GEAR!!!!

i will never put anything less 4.10's in my car may even go 4.30's

for a dd i would go 3.73 man, but talking to every one on here i'm going with 4.10's cause mine is for the weekends nice days and the drag strip. so 3.73's but from what sounds like your going to wish you had gone with 4.10's. good luck with yuor stang

I have 4:10's with mine and Its great. and if your worried about MPG buy a civic. haha joking

got em, love em, have never regretted them, and still get 20+ MPG... 19 city and 22+ highway. :)


highly suggest to anyone wanting to put in some kick.

I wonder what mine are like.i have 4.10s with a 28inch tires so there prob more like 3.73s or somthing

Subframes first, then the safety loop. I think you have to run 10 something for it to be required. I never slung a D/S out of my car. But if it makes you feel better, I'll never knock someone for adding a safety feature.

hey J.R. it sounds like you know a thing or two about a trans. what gear do i need for my speedo? and do you how far off it will be with my 17/35-315's and with my 4.10's. thanks for the info man.

deff. get the 4.10's and don't look back. J.R. knows his shit so listen to him. +1 on the subframes and you will feel the difference. I got them on my vert. and it made a world of difference and it really stiffened it up. You will deff. love the 4.10's next on your list needs to be some WIDE M/T ET Streets :) good hook with some clutch dropping and 4.10's shoooooo lol

You need a 23 tooth gear, it's white, and I carry them. You could also do a speedcal, which is more accurate, but I do not carry them. You can find it at Dallas Mustang.
