Hey guys, well I'm selling the 1996 Cobra to my girlfriend. So I will kind of be out of the mustang world for a little while. I'm going to be saving up to buy a terminator and I will definately be back and hopefully stronger than ever. :headbang:

So far I have been looking at F150's and Lincoln LS's. I would like your opinion's, I'm open to almost any car. If you do give me your opinion please tell me why.

All opinions are appreciated.

Lincoln LS have been known to have many problems. Especially electrical issues, i'd steer clear of them.

for 4-5g you can find a decent foxbody

A foxbody is a good way to go if it's clean, they have already depreciated as much as they can so they are going to hold their value as long as you keep it nice.

Huge difference between a F150 and an LS, can you tell us more specifics on what you are looking for to narrow it down a bit?

I've thought about a fox, but it is really hard to find one that isn't beat up.
I was thinking F-150 because I think I would enjoy having a truck, they are known to be reliable, I can take my dirtbike out with it, and lots of room.
I was thinking Lincoln LS because it seemed to be a nice DD.
Like I said I am open to basically anything, as long as I can enjoy the car.

If it was me, i would find an old people car, ie a late 90's taurus, contour, cavalier, sentra, civic with lower miles that will only run you 2-3,000. The insurance will be super cheap, the car won't drop much in value, and it will help you get into a terminator that much quicker.

Why spend that much if you wanna get a termi anyways???

Just spend $800 or so and suck it up without ac and you have a $3200 down payment left over for a termi??

I can already see it, you're gonna get a $4000-$5000 "beater" and start dumping money in it because you think its faster than mustang etc. Save them pennies and get a termi bro!!

Btw my 94 IMMACULATE 5.0 F-150 cost me $3200 and my fox cost $1000 with a $200 motor and a $200 transmission.

MY OPINION IS:
if you have 4 to 5k to spend on a "temporary" car, go ahead and buy a terminator. If not, what are you waiting for to buy one???

Well everything I'm looking at I consider if it will lose value or if I will be able to sell it for basically the same.
Well I would really prefer to save up until I can pay for a Terminator with cash. I'm not that far away, after I sell my car I will have 12.5k the day my g/f buys my car, I'm just trying to decide what to get as a beater until then.

I dunno, you will still have a long way to go...close to $10k more for a clean termi with average miles. Why not just keep driving your Cobra, and keep saving while driving it? The Cobra isn't going to drop much more in value.

Keep in mind, the more cars you buy/sell, the more money you lose.
