PI 4.6, LT headers with off road h, dumped mufflers, steeda timing adjuster, stock ECU. It makes 237hp and 277tq. Does that sound right? Not sure on the timing setup. So so you guys know the rules, this is a local CMC Mustang. ECU tuning is not allowed. Does the HP/Tq sound right? Limits are 260/310. Seems like others are making the limits where this guy is about 20hp off.
So is it a full PI motor (with the lower compression bottom end) or a pi swap (pi heads on npi shortblock)? Because an 01 GT only made 260 HP to the flywheel. Factor in your typical 15% drivetrain loss and you're looking at 221 rwhp. Exhaust and timing can only get you so far. Still sounds normal to me.
To be honest I don't think it sounds off at all. Factory PI motor came with 265 crank hp, when factoring in about 15% drive train loss that is about 225rwhp. To say he picked up 12rwhp from long tubes and a mid pipe on a stock PI motor if anything is generous.
I think its 10.5 to 1 gotta back track...blak would know fo sho. Now you deck the heads and do some valve reliefs? Look out!
I had about 280 or so, maybe more at the crank with my 98 pi and with my 97 I have about 220 to the wheels currently...it's enough to have fun and get in trouble with. But I need multiple tiers up from get in trouble. I need more like set up the road blocks and dispatch the pursuit Lamborghini hahah. Not that extreme...but it'd be cool
Thats what i thought, really as long as you can keep the heads and intake flowing these 2v love compression. The higher the better
