Try paragraphs dude.

But long run on story short, you need the 4.6, the complete harness, evap and emmisions system, transmission, kmember, and computer.

why not just get a GT, hell they are going for 3500 nowadays anyways. you could skip the headache of havein to run a whole wiring harness.

but to answer your question no, any 4.6 block can use the PI heads. matter of fact some of those crown vic motors could already be PI.

If your going threw all the trouble of tearin the motor down why not use forged internals? 30 over and the stockers are garbage anyhows. You dont need to go crazy. Probe pistons and Eagle rods for example. Cobra crank? You may be sorry latter on if you dont.

That's essentially the whole car.

I would go the route of a low cost GT with some miles on it, do a PI engine swap from a newer stang and freshen up the suspension and you'll have a nice SN95 without too much money or ball busting work. If you went V6-V8 swap, there are still deficiencies that would need to be address to even bring it up to "GT" status. The rear end would need a rear end upgrade (7.5" open vs. 8.8 t-loc), brakes, rims/tires, seats are flat and unsupportive etc.... That all adds up quick.

first off...when you swap from v6 to 5.0 nothing is the same....i had to change body harness and all....k members were not the same...so rethink that one...and also....gt and v6 brakes are all the same...but owell..i was just wanting some opinions for a dd..ive even considered the 5.4 swap..i can get one for cheap...then start there...i just want a cheap dd...this isnt a race car....just a car to look and sound good with a little more grunt than stock..

OK. Didn't know if your thought about all the other stuff that went along with the different platforms. I also didn't realize that GT brakes were the same as V6s as I thought that the rotors were bigger on the GTs so assumed the brakes themselves were also different

GT and V6 are the same, its the Cobras that are bigger.

I think buying a GT would be the better thing to do. They're going around 4k-4.5k around here and are mostly in pretty good shape.

but if you're set on swapping motors, why not just do another V6-5.0 swap? If you've already done it before, then it should be pretty easy, plus you say you're good with pushrods so it just seems like the right thing to do.
