So yeah, I'm back to driving my old truck, a 1977 F250 4x4. 4 speed, D60 D44 4.10, etc. My dad bought the thing new, and I learned how to drive in it, as did my little brother. It's alway been a woodhauling, snowplowing beast.

The funny thing about it is, the mains have rattled for as long as I can remember. I mean, when i was a kid, I could tell when my dad was getting near because I could hear them. The truck pumps 20 psi cold, and about 5 hot, always. I asked my dad about it before3 and he said Ford swapped the motor back in the day because of it, the old one rattled and the new one rattled too ("been rattlin for 20 year's, probably rattle for 20 more!"). I was just wondering, has anyone else ever seen this with these motor's? A few older guy's have told me they were just like that, I find it weird myself. BTW the truck has 178k on it now.

This one rattles constantly, "ting ting ting a ling ting ta ting" like that, it always has. It's really weird, people think it's gonna let loose any second and I just tell them it's always done that, lol.

You're right about torque though, the thing goes just as slow no matter how much it's pulling! ;)

lol LMC Truck sells cab corner's and just about everything else for these trucks. Post up some pics.

I am hoping to get her painted in the spring, my dad wants me to leave it the way it is but I don't want it to rust out b/c it is in pretty good shape.
