I'm working with the guy on the pulley.

Hey Onyx, doesn't the B-303 and the Steeda have nearly the same specs? Just asking as now I'm currious.

what do the B303 and Steeda have to do with the stock Cobra cam? Cobras do NOT have B cams stock, only similarity is .480 lift w/ the cobra rockers.

Well I'll be, I just learned something new.

I'm looking to possibly buy this cam tonight, but need some feedback from you guys. Is there anything else I would need to install this cam?

I actually just read a bunch of threads saying no to cams with stock heads.

My question is, what heads you running, you want your cam to support your heads, and vice versa, no point in having an aggressive cam like that and your heads won't fully support it.

If you want to eventually have FI and H/C/I 306, save up your money for a dart block or a ford boss block because that equals block splitting power. Also, your going to need a very stout tranny, manual or automatic. Don't forget that more HP means upgraded trannies, rear ends and suspension.

The big hype of 5.0's compared to 4.6's is that its WAY cheaper to mod a 5.0. The 5.0 has been around for what, 30+ years? The aftermarket for the 5.0 is even bigger than the chevy 350, i believe.

In fact there are few cars putting out 350 to the wheels. Heck, the pontiac G8 GXP with 415 hp only makes roughly 332 rwhp with an auto and 20% hp loss thru an auto. A regular c6 corvette puts out around 350 rwhp.

I wanted to build a 350+ rwhp 347 but that would cost around $5-7K. I have settled with building a stock block, stock crank, stock rods, high compression piston 306 with aluminum heads, ported cobra intake, shorties, custom cam and rebuilt T5. I do have the delema of living in CA and having the biggest SMOG Nazis of all. My goal is to have a fun, reliable street car making around 300 rwhp. If I want to go faster, I'll shed weight or give it a little giggle gas.

I went against the grain and put an e-cam in my 306 with stock E7 heads, stock intake, & full exhaust. I know my heads/intake are holding me back, period, I?m aware. However, I did notice an increase in low-mid range power through 5000-ish (exactly what I was looking for). After about 5000rpm the cam starts to behave like stock. I have GT40 heads sitting on the bench I need to clean up and put on and I am going to install SVO Motorsports (Cobra) intake soon, but as it sits the car runs well. I did have to get a non-dyno tune to take care of annoying driveability issues, but nothing big, primarily poor gas mileage and rich idle. Since then I decided to learn how to tune it myself. Now, I have a QuarterHorse and a wideband and I?m doing the tuning myself. Well, trying at least.

Any aftermarket cam will need a tune to run right (not just run and get by..); I don?t care if people have gotten by without a tune and will try and argue against it; clearly they haven?t looked at the programming within the EEC. A9L guys get by easier because the computer doesn?t look at as much as the newer computers. Fordfuelinjection.com has a pdf file on it called ?A9L vs T4M0 Showdown? or something very close to that and the write up does a good job showing why the A9L accepts cam swaps easier than the T4M0, but also shows how the T4M0 has much more potential.

EDIT: WTF is up with all of my apostrophes and quotes changing to question marks when I post???
