Hey you guys i took your advice from previous threads i posted and waited till i found a donor car for the swap. i own a 1996 v6 mustang and just bought a totalled off 1995 gt with a 5.0, i was wondering since they are the same body style if i could swap out the rear end and drive shaft when i do the motor swap, also the 5.0 has an automatic trans and i was wondering if my 5 speed standard will bolt up to it and will i have any issue's or problems i may incounter. if you guys could give me some advice or how to from experience it would be greatly appriciated

I want to say the V6 and V8 T5's were identical, but don't hold me to that. I'd def swap to the 8.8" rearend too, but I'm not sure if the automatic and manual driveshafts are the same lengths. If not, now would be a great time to go ahead and get a FRPP aluminum driveshaft. The rearend ought to just bolt right in. Where was the 5.0L wrecked at?

rear end is straight bolt in, you will need to pull the qaud shock mounts off the gt's sub frame.

i've done a full v6 to v8 swap, just take your time and all will be ok.

The K member will have to be changed over to the 94/95 for the 5.0
While the bellhousing will bolt up to the 5.0, it won't work due to the V6's bigger flywheel diameter and you can't use the V6 flywheel as it is 28oz balance and the 5.0 is 50 (bolt holes to bolt to crank are smaller on V6 flywheel.
You will need a 94/95 only V8 bellhousing, flywheel, and clutch as well as manual driveshaft to bolt up to your V6 T5, your V6 T5 will hold up fine behind the 5.0 motor.
Just about everything from the donor car will transfer over.

We have a 97 V6 coupe project car we did back in about 02 that is running an Explorer 5.0 with distributorless ignition (4.6 computer) with everything being changed on the car except the V6 T5, car is making 300 HP and never had a reason to change it out (have a V8 T5 sitting in shop) these transmissions are rated at the same torque as fox body V8 T5's

as i stated in another thread earlier, you will need a manual ECU for the 5.0, dont use the auto from your as it will not run correctly, im not sure if there's difference in the v6 manual transmission harness and the manual v8 transmission harness (i wouldn't think so) but if they're different then you'll need a manual v8 transmission harness too
