Well here she is, the 50 dollar BBK CAI I found on craigslist last night. Picked it up this morning, kinda dirty, but otherwise in great shape. It came with all the sensors installed, bonus! I'm gonna go clean it then bolt this bad boy on! I'll post pics upon completion! SCORE!

Any tips or tricks on installing would be most helpful!

Thanks guys,

Mustang Sally

Nice grab. Mine was like 40 - 50 off ebay. It isn't name brand but works all the same!

Looks good man. One thing I did to make my engine bay look a little better after puttin my CAI in was pulling off that cover on top of the distributor --> Covers the spark plugs and distributor and cap. Looks a 1000x better imo

+1 on removing the distributor cap. now that you have that shiny intake the rest of the engine needs to love, simple green and a hose will do wonders.

I never do. Just spray the cleaner all over everything. Wait like 10 minutes, and hose it off. Use a brush if you have caked on grime, a baby bottle brush works very well. Just don't wash any more baby bottles with it afterwards. :)

it certainly doesn't hurt. I don't have experience with purple power but it looks to be the same sort of thing. I've had bad experience with some degreasers in the past as they leave white residue all over the bare metal in the engine bay so you may want to try it on a small area first if you've never used it.

Rock and roll, I cleaned the balls out of the car today, again. It's starting to turn into a 3 hour job every weekend, not that there's anything wrong with that...right? The local Dollar General sells purple power, sounds like a nice 15 - 20 minute job, i'll stretch over an hour tomorrow. Pics forthcoming fellas

If you use Purple Power make sure to dilute it some with water. If not it will discolor your metal and sometimes plastic parts. I use it all the time for the cars and around the house. Gets stains outta carpets really good too.
