What intake and what cam? If your going with a intake like a cobra intake that is setup for a 65mm then upgrading to a 70mm with out enlarging the opening would be pointless.

A 70mm and The opening on a cobra/motorsport is 70mm.

Here's a crazy idea, but why not match the TB to what the entire induction system can handle?
1.Ford Stock 5.0L 60MM, 526 CFM
2.Accufab 65MM, 616 CFM
3.BBK 70MM, 726 CFM
4.Accufab 75MM, 845 CFM
5.Accufab 90MM, 1225 CFM
(source:Stangnet 94/95 forum)
Here's a clue a h/c/i 302 doesn't need or can handle an air valve that flows 726 CFM

94-95 cobras intakes had a 65mm tb just like explorers. i do not own a cobra intake so i cannot check the intake opening size however i know they came with 65's. I do agree that he should go with a 70.

My Cobra intake came with a 65, do you have to open it out to use a 70?

You wouldnt have to open it up 70 to use a 70 however, Im not sure what using a 70 on a intake that was meant to have a 65 on it would do for flow. I never claimed to know anything about fluid dynamics but that just seems like common sence.

Wrong the 93 Cobra's came with a 65 mm stock, the 94/95 Cobra's came with a 60mm t/b just like the GT's.

it is not meant to have a 65mm tb it just has one from the factory that resticts it.
LMAO I'm not sure who is giving you or where you are getting your facts but the fact is a stock unported upper/lower cobra flows an average of 198 CFM per runner. So how does a stock 60mm that flows 526 CFM a restriction?

Thanks, well i bought the Cobra manifold with a Ford Racing 65mm TB, so i assumed they would be matched up, just wondered now the AFR heads are on wether or not to get a 70mm TB and intake. ;)

Hey you need to do more research because you do not understand the numbers. and good heads normally flow 200-260 whats you point.

The point is you are buying tb based on the size of the hole instead of CFM. I don't think you are grasping the concept of air flow. So good heads flow 200-260 (if they are really hogged out 300+) so you think using a tb that flows 700+cfm (BBK 70MM, 726 CFM) is the right one to use? So how are you magically going to squeeze 726 CFM in to an intake that flows 198 CFM then down a set of heads that flows 165 cfms (afr 165's)?

you do to much book reading and not enough building and racing. If you want to drive a stock car then do so but most people want more power even if it is only 5hp. you have no clue of what you are talking about. Be smart don't speak.
