Hi all, I was recommended to come over here relating to my idea, I am alresdy planning on buying the shrader manual on the swap, stock 2V with a 4R70w ———> 6R80, pretty much asking if anyone knows of anything else they had to do to run the transmission best.

Also forgot to ask, is it possible to use the manual shifting feature? If possible even with paddle shifters

So far I know I’ll need the transmission preferably mustang 5.0 13-14, and the quick 6, new transmission cooler, lines and adapter. Crossmember, driveshaft, I can’t think of anything else off the top of my head.

You’ll need an engine plate, flex plate, torque converter, shifter, dipstick/tube/fill neck and possibly some exhaust modifications. I’m not entirely sure about the exhaust but I would expect it.

You could use the 13-14 “select shift” shifter or adapt some paddle shifters to your steering wheel. Which is what I’ll be doing with my S197 6r80 swap. I’ll dig up a video and a forum post for you.

I know it’s a S197 in the video, this only has to do with the Quick 6 controller and could possibly work with an SN95.

Hey man, glad you made it over here!

His car is an auto car so the flex plate, starter, spacer plate, and shifter will all work. The fill tube, if it’s a mustang is just a little plug on the case. The trans should have one with it.

Well that just makes life that much easier! This is a perfect foundation for anything you decide to do under the hood.

No, the controller handles that.

Ok, so anything 11+ that is same bellhousing and from a mustang preferably but can be used if it’s from a f150 5.0 right?

12+ is the safer bet. The 11’s had an internal ecu that doesn’t work with the controller. You can get it from a 2wd f150, the difference is how the shifter cable bracket mounts up to the transmission.

I think there are some clutch differences but either way, you’ll be fine.

And yes, make sure it’s from a 5.0 engine. The others have a different bolt pattern
