at was looking at brand new rear ends.
are these direct replacement for our cars? (94-98)

my question is: WHY A 500$ DIFFERENCE ???
I mean the only difference is the gears right?

not really sure. especially for a 28 spline set up. any reason you don't want to build your exsisting? upgrading to 31 spline isn't all that bad. Randy can get Cobra diffs which are 31 spline carbon fiber clutches for a very sweet price. Then just pick up some axles and do some eliminators or do the smaller 9" ends and get them welded on. Axles are around 250, the diff is around 160, gear for 100-150 used,ect... If you know a guy who does gear set ups you can probably have a stout rear for under a grand. With the axles and diff you should be able to throw 500 or so HP at it for pretty long time. Thats what I just did in my turbo car.
