I've been researching a lot about blowers for my car (94 mustang gt 5sp) the car is mostly stock except for exhaust and gears and smog delete. I've narrowed it down to the vortech V3 si-trim. I have a couple questions about weather to go with the complete kit or the tuner kit and buy a PMS.
1. I already have a trick flow 255 pump, will this pump provide sufficient fuel or do i really need to add the Trex pump also?

2. How effective is tuning with the FMU and the timing box supplied with the complete kit? How much hp will this be able to support before i need to upgrade to a custom chip or PMS tune? Also does anyone know any good write ups or walk throughs on tuning with the FMU and timing box?

3. If you do recommend going with the tuner kit am i better off getting a custom chip and a dyno tune, or i was also thinking about a PMS unit and trying start learning to tune myself?

I know these are alot of questions that have probably been brought en up before but i have searched around on multiple forums and cant seem to find exactly what im looking for. Also if you have any reason to not suggest the V3 blower i would like to hear the reasoning as i don't want to make the wrong decision here. Thanks in advance for the help!!!

the 255 should be fine unless you plan on going E85 or making over 500hp at the wheels. I wouldn't mess with the fmu. it's just a band air fix. get some 42# injectors, and a good tune would be the better way to go. you can try with the pms yourself but i've found it better to let some one that knows what they are doing do the tuning.

Basics..

You'll still need the T-Rex, MAF meter for injectors, 42lb or 60lb injectors.

I would get a dyno tune, unless you're sure you know how to tune correctly.

with your stock set up if your not going over 10# with the blower the fmu and btm will work fine.I have ben running my set up with btm but not fmu.I have my fuel pressure jacked up to 55lbs with 42 inj.I have only a 255 pump but not the t-rex.if you can swing it put the t-rex just to make shure you dont lean out.thats the killer.I have got the quarterhorse tuner and tuning is harder than i was thinking on the 94-95 cars.my fastest times or with fact tune and btm.they do make a disc for 42inj and i am thinking of putting t-rex and fmu just to be safe being i have it.I would love to have it dyno tuned but dont have 900 bucks for thats .I have been running my set up like i described for a year and only time i drive it is to dog it or bring it to the track.make shure you get a good mass air meter calibrated for inj.good luck.GET A WIDEBAND AND FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE IF IT GOES LEAN GET OUT OF IT AND INCREASE FUEL PRESSURE UNTILL YOU GET THE A/F AROUND 11 OR 12.1 WITH TIMING NOT OVER 20 DEGREES TOTAL.HAVE FUN

$900 for a tune? Jesus..

Here it is $650 and that is chip, tune, and dyno time plus its a former NMRA Pro 5.0 racer tuning the car.
