Is there a difference in the farthest front section of ground effect between the 5.0 and 4.6 cars? I could have sworn that I remember there being a change in '96.

Cheers,
Jon

can we make a sticky on this?

94 didn't have the little lip on it like yours in your sig does. It was switched in the 95 model year how ever it is still not all that uncommon to see 95's with them as it seems they used the old ones until they ran out and then switched sometime in 95.

now the flamewar about how much better the 94's look can begin!

I called it an 'L' piece. My 95 was w/o it. I bought skirts from a 98, I had them reuse my stock front parts. Some 95's had them & some didn't.

Is that what you mean?

I kept mine looking that way b/c it showed even more that I drove a 5.0. Not every body would know this, but I would.

I had no idea why they went with the change until I learned about how necissary they are for some people. This one guy had a 94 and wanted the newer ones. I don't know if he traveled on gravel roads a lot, but they kick up rocks so much that on the 94 he had paint chips on the ground effect AND the fender. The fender as we know is steel and can rust if not maintained. He said that it's been repainted several times and that the newer piece would protect the fender from rock strikes.

I dunno, I've driven on all kinds of roads, even off roaded it a few times, I only get rock strikes on my rear bumper, inside the wheel well area.

I love the 94 look so much that despite all my appearance mods, it's the one thing I want to keep original. Taillights don't count because they currently don't make anything on the market that I want, but am trying to get something developed

Was never a fan of either. The rockers on these cars look like nerf bars from a dirt modified race car. LOL

Skirtless ftw.

that is why I think the svo style sideskirts look so much better. I never realized how much of an add-on the look like until I took the stock ones off.

i like my stock 94s but cant you jus take them off and run without any sideskirt. I think thatd be the best look...kinda like the termis did

Nope, why would it be faded. if anything, the rest of the car would be faded and under the skirts would look like new.

Keep in mind there are about 15 small holes after you remove the skirts. Not really noticeable unless you crouch down to look though.

It's a nice look if you have stock bumper covers. Looks stupid on my car though. As for the holes, I recomend plugging them up. Hate to see mud and water work it's way in there, especially if you live in an area where they salt the roads. If you don't do it fir yourself please at least do it for the owner 10-50 years from now.

i've never seen a skirtless car in person before, so i can't say. although i think someone would be crazy to say a 95 and up L piece with side skirt looks better than that pic above with no skirt. just looks like it cam like that. i hate the L piece so much. just looks terrible imo. i need to put my straight pieces on, although that tempts me to take them off.
