94/95 ECU

People keep telling me that the 94/95 ECU is very restrictive.. How much of this is true? Can I use an ECU off of a fox or anything else that will work fine with the car?


Also, I was going to buy a new cap and rotor for my car. It has a 95 Cobra motor. The parts guy said the 94 cap was different than the 95 cap, but the rotors were the same. Why is this?

The 94/95 ECU is fine, and in fact more capable than the A9L in the fox. It can be a bit more finicky, but there is nothing wrong with it. If you have a combination that cannot be tuned using the T4M0, then you need a new tuner, not a new computer.

The cap is the same between the two years.
