If these cars are anything like Fox cars, the auto ecu will work with a manual trans, but a manual ecu will not work with an auto trans. So, I guess you will be fine using your computer, but don't quote me on that!

No Computer needed! just get the clutch, flywheel, pilot bearing, t-5 trans, driveline, shifter, clutch cable, pedal assembly and beer. you may need a t-5 trans. harness, but I cant remember.

its better if you do get a manual computer but i'm not sure if it will really affect the engine management when it thinks it wants to shift the auto.

The PCM will not work correctly. A fox is different because the AOD is not controlled by the PCM.

If you use a auto PCM with a manual the timing will not advance and it will think the car is in park. The PCM is looking for an automatic trans to shift.

Oh yeah! I forgot about the automatics being controlled by the computer in these cars...hence the name AOD-E.
