Hey guys I bought a 94 cobra awhile ago for a really good price, and when I got it home I noticed the dash lights didn't come on. I checked the fuses, and they all seem to be alright. I'm not sure if whoever had the car before rigged the wiring or what, because that have the two gauge pod on the pillar, but with no gauges in it. Any help would be appreciated, or suggestions as to what i should do!

first thing i'd ck would be the head light switch pigtail. they're know to melt and cause issues.
When mine melted I also didn't have tail lights.
You can get the pigtail/harness at your local parts supplier. and you may as well replace the H/L sw too while your in there too.

Well the tail lights/running lights and headlights seem to work fine, as do the blinkers, but I will definetly check that because I am planning on pulling the cluster out just to see if I notice any burned/melted wires.

Well I believe a new pigtail was put on it, seeing as how all the wires were crimped together. I also took the headlight switch out of my 95 gt, ( which hasnt been touched) and the colors matched the correct positions. So I'm pretty stumped about this, and this really is something that needs to be fixed as I'm turning this car into a dd, and it will be driven at night.

did you just look at the wires or did you pull the connector and inspect the end of it.
Could also be the head light sw itself (dimmer)

Looked at the wires as well as pulled the connector. All seemed well except for the shitty looking job he did. And which fuse under the hood should I check?

when checking for fuses I do not even bother to check the manual. Start in one corner and work your way across it. It is funny how they tapped power for circuits from here/there when they had it available so it is really entertaining to find out that the windshield wiper fuse for some reason had something to do with what I noticed was dead.

I didn't think about it at the time and now the cobra battery for some reason or another has went dead, but im going to switch the headlight switch out of my gt into my cobra, I am assuming they are the same, as they definetly have the same clip.

try putting the cobra cluster into the gt and see if it dose the same thing then you will know if it is the cluster or the car.this is if i understand your post corectly and you have two cars there.at least you can narow down the problem to the cluster or the car
