Hi, i got this car a few months ago and now that it is starting to warm up i am able to tinker with it a bit more... On the 1994 Cobra the fan is a dual speed fan, but it does not run on the low speed. Any ideas on the problem? I have installed a new CCRM as to fix an issue with the air conditioning( WHICH STILL EXISTS because of a freon leak) but any ideas on what that could be? Is there any possibility that the fan motor could be bad? I really do not have a diagram of the fan and really don't know where to get the voltage for the fan to work to test the circuit. Any suggestions appreciated...

Car has other issues such as a phantom oil leak, but im going to tear into the top end this coming weekend and hope to find the problem.. When i first got it the dipstick tube came loose and that was the problem at first but it is still there and leaks SOMETIMES dunno where all to check its dry all around the pan and i doubt it could be the mainseal but i havent ruled that out yet...

Check the your ECT coolant temp sensor operation because it tells the CPU when to activate the CCRM for low speed cooling fan operation. Just fixed the exact same problem, the same way, I put in a new CCRM which still didn't fix the problem until I realized the ECT was not working right.

I installed a new one of those aswell and it only fixed the high speed operation of the fan, and made the gauge work about as decent as a factory gauge will work.. Is this fan motor some how controled by a different ckt, and the motor could be bad?

Yea i already read that through and through only for the high speed side, damn fan doesnt even come on when the AC comes on... ill probably try installing a new fan motor when i put in this cam... see if that does it...

when you replaced the coolant sensor which side was it on? Passenger or driver? The driver's side has the one for the gauge and the passenger side has a different sensor that talks to the PCM which in turn controls the fan operation

yea the coolant temp sensor on the passenger side...

I used those diagrams you gave me and jumpered on the high side and low side w/ 12VDC and got both the high and low speeds to work on the fan... However, judging from that website w/ those diagrams i am getting no voltage at anytime at pin #14, and the troubleshooting guide says i should and that leads back to the EEC...

EEC probs, this is gonna be fun... :(

Be sure to check ALL your grounds for the CCRM. They can play hell if the under hood harness isn't grounded at all its required points.

Yea, well honestly thats what was bugging me aswell... On the negative side of the battery cable thats where i got my best ground to do my volt meter tests... I couldnt get shit with the car frame aswell to do my ground continuity tests... I even went to the green ground screw that was attached to the wire bundle and it wasnt showing that great of a ground.. But the CCRM is working tho, because the Low speed fan relay is not energizing, but the high speed relay is.. ITs not getting voltage at that pin #14. WHen im putting in my cam, im goin to do some more checks and such. My buddy is installing my cam, i suck w/ motors... So thats a learning exp. for me.. I kinda hope i dont get continuity in that wire that goes from the CCRM to the EEC... If i dont that will be a good fix..

But i appreciate your help, you ve been the most helpful person out of freakin mustangworld, corral,svtperf... all they seem to know how to do is exhaust and gears. lol

You can test the fan easily. Disconnect the coolant temp sensor wiring connector. When you start the car, the fan should turn on immediately and throw a check engine light. I found this out by accident last week when I pulled my upper intake and forgot to reconnect the coolant sensor connector. I had to pull the codes from the computer to figure it out. :crazy2:
