Hey guys , Just got this cobra in Nov. Trying to get the MPG's up. Last check it was around 13. Possibly foot was too heavy though. :D

hahah ya pushing:p

I cleaned out the IAC and it seemed to start better, been having long starts...

Going to clean off the MAF soon. Cleaned the air filter and it was very dirty.

Anyone know if I can clean anything else to possibly increase mpg and performance? I'm looking into seafoaming it maybe.

Clean Cobra! Definetly hit a seafoam treatment, and then watch white smoke come out of the exhaust! Last time I did mine on my v6, it told me where I had an exhaust leak, AND it put the whole Advance Auto Parts Store in a white smoke. Fun stuff!

What sort of driving do you do?

Changing to 4.10's you usually see an increase in city mpgs, but a drop in highway.

Now, you can clean your throttle body, clean the intake, clean the MAF, change the plugs and oil, basic tune ups can help quite a bit.

O2 sensors as well, but that's $$

I dont mind the decal for now.. thought it might look good w darker tint.

I'm on stock 3.08 gears. I would love a set of 3.73

welcome to the madness
very nice Cobra.
stay away from platimium plugs when doing a tune up. (5oh's don't generally like them). you might also be due for a coil due to age. Find out what your timing is set at (with the spout out).
I have 4:10 gears and 200,000 miles on my stock GT engine and get 17-18MPg's, with mostly highway cruising at 75mph.
I would guess you should be near same based on your stock gears and more HP than me.

Nice Cobra! I think MPG should be the least of your worries. As long as it drives great and your not getting under 10 MPG you should be ok. My 347 Cobra gets about 15 MPG but then again its a weekend car. I have a V6 for DD. But like every one else said, a basic tune up should get your cobra running great. Best thing to do is go over all your sensors and either clean them or replace them. Good luck!

It has MSD distributor, Screamin Demon coil, Dyna module... Livewire spark plug wires... plugs are good but going to check the rest (only checked one).

It is so bad on gas mileage as a DD that I am going to sell it if I cant get better MPG's .. Not looking for accord like mileage but want about 18 mpg.

Its really hard to stay off the gas though lol

Or if I can keep it till I get a second beater car that would be cool....
