I have a 94 Cobra Pace Car convertible and all of a sudden the convertible stopped working. It will not raise to clcose without "help". It will go down on its own, but will not come up. I can hear the motor humming, so I think its OK. Any thoughts, suggestions or ideas? Help please

pull the rear seats, and the side panels and check it out. Chances are the cylinders have leaked the fluid all over the place in there. Then you'll need to replace them. its not hard, just a bit of work to get to them.

Not to get to the pump. You can get to it thru the trunk. But the top cylinders, yes you do. And those are most likely the issue for you.

Well it sounds like you've done this before. Any tips or hints would be greatly appreciated. I am going to tackle it this week end. Leave top up or to down to make more room in rear to remove seat etc? Pitfalls to watch out for.

thanks Al

I havent had to replace the cylinders, but my interior is out of my car right now which is how I know what needs to come out to access them. Over on Corral.net there was a DIY post in the 94-95 section on how to do it with great pics, but it was from yrs ago and I think all the pics have broken links now. You can still see the thread, but just not the pics... maybe try that thread and see if you can get the gist of what he was saying.
