95 5.0 timing

Checked timing and it was like 8 AFTER TDC .....what's the deal ? It runs like ass and pings hard when its set correct .

And it ran like crap,, did you pull the plugs and look for detonation on the straps or tips.. Also how's the cap and rotor condition?..

sure you don't have a vacuum leak check that pipe that goes under the back of your upper plentum i had one there had to take the plentum off to replace it

yeah its runnin like ass and popin thats why i checked time.

plugs, wires , cap look ok but plan to get msd tune up kit . the coil did have some damage on the tip

Did you try loosening your distributor bolt and adjusting it?

Yes tried to time it at 10 btdc and it ran real bad

Balancer spun more then likely common with the 5.0's

Did u take dist. Out at any time before this 8 degrees is a litter low .my old car I ran at 17 and retard to12 for juice . Maybe the gear is off a tooth or something too.

thought about that , ive never had it out myself, i just got the car , i will check and see when the parts come in
