my 95 gt is having a sputtering and backfiring problem... when you first crank it up in the morning it runs like crap! i have to rev the motor up seriously about to 4500 rpm to get it moving then it till about a quarter of the way through each gear then it clears. until u hit the next gear and it does it again... sputters and if you floor it, it backfires then takes off spinning when it starts to run right... but if i run it about a good hour or so it will clear up mostly.. ive changed everything from fuel pump to sensors.. cleaned out my mass air flow, and cleaned every connector under my hood and no codes besides the egr but i have no smog or emissions lol.. just cant seem to pinpoint the problem, i will keep updating if i find out anything.. do the same for me please... and im also running rich.. maybe this will help eliminate some things.. also changed tps, rotor cap and button. checking my plug gaps now..

Get a fuel pressure gauge and fire her up. See what its at at idle then try to make it visible and take it for a spin with the gauge connected.

Why not just take it to a shop and let them figure it out? Makes no sense to be a backyard mechanic replacing everything under the sun that doesn't need replacing...just throwing money away compared to a diagnostic charge.

PIP- Profile ignition pickup- It's the electronics inside your distributor. It's a known trouble area on 94-95 5.0's. How old is your distribtuor?
TFI- Thick film ignition- aka ICM- Ignition control module. It's a known trouble area on fox 5.0's. but not so much on sn's.
Back firing sounds like a timing problem. double ck your plug wires are correct.
What is the timing set to? Did you pull the spout?

what exactly "everything" that you replaced.
You probaly know , you need 3 things for ignition. Air, fuel, and spark.
Air is easy.
Fuel, you need 40psi with vacuum disconnected at the regulator, also you can ck to see if the injectors are firing with a noid tester.
Spark, spark at the plug, a Haynes/Chilton manual gives a procedure to test the coil.
Another common problem is ground wires from engine to frame, frame to body, frame to engine, battery to engine, computer to body, etc.

You could always try cleaning the MAF off as well. Couldnt hurt anything and it's free/cheap
