what is the best performance for a 2004 4.6 ?
trying to get the car into the low 13s
have a 04 motor with o/r x pipe and mac mufflers and knn intake, xcal3 on order

with a set of gears, and if you can drive, they are capable of low thirteens with a virtually stock engine. local guy went 13.4's with the stock 3:27 gear in his coupe, alot of practice was involved.

throwing a set of gears in these cars are always the best. If you want to drop some dough, you can always get a set of ported heads, a set of cams and a good dyno tune. probably put you somewhere close to 300 rwp with full exhaust.

how much do think porting the heads would cost ? i was thinking of doing a stage 2 cam in about a month

you can buy preported heads ie patriot or trickflow or you can buy stock heads and ship them to fox lake and have ron do a set for you, with that he can suggest the best spec cam for the port job he did. to the guy who ran a 13.4 on a "stock" car. he DEF was rowing gears, LAUNCHED harrrrrrrd and didnt mess around and may have had some weight outta the car. but your goal is attainable. id do gears and get rid of some weight and youll be good

Little things add up so if you can get a good deal I say go for it.
