Hi guys I have been off for a while. But Im back :headbang: I'm getting ready to start my PI swap. And I have a few questions .

1st / Is there a difference between the head bolts on a 97 gt and 99 gt ?
2nd / What is the difference with the head bolt on an Windsor vs Romeo head ?
3rd / What is the difference between a timing chain on a 97 gt and a 99 gt ?

Thanks everyone.

Ps Can you put Windsor heads (pi) on a Romeo block (npi) ? PLEEEEEASE say yes =\

The only difference between the 2 that I know of is, windsor heads have press fit cam gears, and romeo heads have bolt on cam gears.

one of the two has different valve covers and the oil fill on a different side. I dont think that there is a difference in head bolts but do not take my word for it, just make sure you buy new bolts and there is a sequence to take out the head bolts, so be careful. I would assume that you should buy new timing chans and guides but for your non-pi block (I do not know the if non-pi and pi timing components are different)

1) no difference in the head bolts on the 97 vs 99. head bolts are the same for any 4.6L/5.4L, SOHC or DOHC
2) nothing different. on the windsor heads tho, reaching the head bolts with the heads in the car are easier than on the romeo heads because of the cam cap
3) nothing different between the chains as well. 2v and 4v, romeo or windsor, use the same primary chains. the 5.4L uses longer chains, but thats the only difference.

PS. yes, you can put windsor heads on a romeo block. knock urself out and enjoy the extra power once you get the swap done :)

oh, and no, there is no difference between the NPI or PI, windsor or romeo head gasket.
