97 to an 03 console, cig lighter help

I have an 03 center console that I'm going to put in when I finish the dash, but I would like to keep the cig lighter in the console box usable. I have the harness from the 97 still, (I like my cig lighter by the shifter!) I have the wiring from the cig lighter that use to be next to the console ash tray, is there anyway to use those two wires to put the correct plug onto the 03 style cig lighter thats in the console box? Is it just a matter of knowing which wire is which and putting the correct plug on it?
I also have an extra harness that I want to attempt the foglight trick with..

its only two wires, you can extend them or add another hrns if you want to.

I figured that much. But both cig lighters on the 97 have diff plugs, I thought maybe there was some reason for that, and I just wanted to make sure its safe to do. Which wire goes to which?

should be able to splice into them and put it wherever you want.

use your test light or meter, one is hot, one is grounded. should work either way.
