Well completed 10 races. On the cars first year. Engine no issues. Just had to do some tuning to get the car to be consistent. Recurve the distributor. Jets and power valves for the carb. Car started out running 7.6 @ 90 in 1/8. Now running a best of 7.28 @ 94. Still need to get a better cooling system. Car would get upto 210 on days that were above 85. Finally got a couple videos and noticed the car was twisting more than I would like. So got BMR Rear launch springs and changed to a different adjustable shock. Car still twists from the torque but less than 1”. Car launches straight. Other than the body twist. Winter project will include a 6 point roll cage and a better subframe connector. And a weight box. So I can slow the car for the class I’d like to run . I built the car just hoping to run. 7.5 1/8 or 12.0 1/4. So I would not have to invest in more safety gear or do a bunch of work to make the car more ridged. Amazing how much torque a 393 puts out even with a small hydraulic roller cam.

Currently the bbk. I’m going to get square tubing and make custom ones the will also tie into the roll cage. That way I can ensure they are plenty long. And I’ll open up where needed.

Nice, working on a 393w myself. Why the 6.25 rods?
The crank did not come as a kit. I was told about it from a builder. Had a client that backed out of a build. So I bought the crank and found the rods and pistons seperate, as for a reason why a longer rod would be used. It increases your rod angle ratio. Which helps with torque , another trick I’ve recently read about is making a long rod 351w. Uses the 351m rod with 302 piston. Something the round round guys do.

Randall Garner you around????? Need a huge favor. If your still using the stock hood I need a measurement please. I know your running a tall deck like I’m building and the intake I want I’m not sure can fit under my hood.

I need a measurement at the front of the intake around where the dizzy is to the hood.

Actually you might be able to touch the tape measure to the block right where the dizzy goes in and then up to the hood.

I know hoods are not cheap you have that cobra hood

Yeah and it’s Cervinis. I didn’t want to deal with hood pins so I spent quite a bit more to get one that was perfectly built and reliable.

I have the stock hood but had to open it up for a cowl hood I run a victor intake. And a vilocity stack. If your running a dual plane with out a spacer a cobra type hood will clear a carb.
