Update! Got the motor pulled and power washed the engine bay and painted it. Gonna try and stick with this 302 but maybe beef it up some maybe a bigger bore and some heads
Can I get the factory heads done? Or is it better just to get pi heads. What is a good intake for our cars and heads on a somewhat budget I dunno have lots of questions as this is my first mustang. Here’s some pics

So that changes things imma have to check junk yard for a motor and have machine shop build it up. What size motors will fit in our cars. I want something bigger anyway so that works out Any body got some for sale

Most of these are impossible to get for a good price
Junk yards have destroyed a lot of it
But I think a 302 50. Or a 351 w. Would be good

Then for modular engine 4.6 dohc
Or a cyot 5.0
5.4 l

The modulars have limited aftermarket head options. Trickflow makes a $2000 set of improved design 2valve head and there are a host of 4valve head package options from ford.

And then there is the big 5.4l engine swap option, 2v or 4v, that will gain you zero hp over what the 4.6l can do, however does bring monsterous torque that does nothing for a quicker car. Valve size restricts any hp gain and either engine size maxes out what the intake valve can allow to pass through. Trust me when i state the 4.6l is a powerful platform.

Keep in mind, any direction will require ingenuity especially a 5.4l swap. The 4v package swap is a bit more straight forward long as all the components of the package are available.

My suggestion for simplicity sake, find another 4.6l from a '04-up crownvic/mercury/ lincoln and swap it in. These model year engines came with the most up to date improvements and will add to the success of your swap.

If you want to become your own worst enemy with thoughts of power improvements, cracking the engine open will be necessary. Sure there are fun bolt on improvements and they help, but its nothing spectacular. Swapping the cams is where its at, but be prepared for a learning curve.

Deviating from a stock engine setup really screws with the fuel injection programming that will need to be dyno tuned. Its an added cost and brings on vehicle downtime if your are willing.

Swap in an '04 and up 4.6 2V like 96blak54 says. With the money you save vs. paying for a rebuild, buy a used blower kit and have fun!

Thanks guys that pretty much sums it up for me. Gonna stick with what I got and redo bottom end with new heads. Have a cold air intake and bbk tb on it gonna get headers and new exhaust all the way back. Should be quick enough for me.

Here's a good idea!

Take pictures of all your progress and start a build thread so that we all can watch it!!
