98 GT transmission slipping bad

Well here's the deal, Ive got 98,000 miles on my gt convertible and recently the trans has begun to slip pretty bad. For a week or so it would work alot better if I kept the overdrive off. Now everytime you hop in the car to go anywhere , you press on the gas and it will rev and rev with no engagement whatsoever. I got pretty pissed and figured out if you just eventually floor it , it will launch at like 4 to 5,000 rpm. Not good. Believe me I know. Anyone had this happen and know what it could be before I go get ripped at a dealer. Fluid was switched pry 15,000 miles ago and is full, no visible leaks whatsoever. Im hoping it's not going to be a fortune to fix. :BangHead: :BangHead:

hmm my car did this for about 2 minutes before it lost 3rd and 4th gear completely

Did you have your transmission rebuilt? If so do you remember how much it ran you. Thanks

JR rebuilt me one and a converter...Im not sure how much he would charge and he hasnt been on here in like 2 months so I think your gonna have to go somewhere else.

Probably cost 2500 or so
