the frpp 170lph pump works great, never had any problems with it, but i think its discontinued. :dunno:

either the lincoln aviator or the svt focus fuel pumps will work, both of those are 200+lph pumps i believe.

what is the reasoning the '98 gt's have like a 5-10 hp increase over the 96-97's?

More Agreesive Tune, and refinded exhaust which I think is BS :bla:

The tailpipe diameter of the 98s was larger. Don't see that as changing much considering the 6 converters would still never outflow the muffler/tailpipes.

wikipedia says

"For 1998, the SOHC 4.6 L V8 power was increased to 225 hp (168 kW) via a more aggressive PCM calibration, a slightly modified fuel system, and larger volume exhaust system through increased exhaust pipe diameter."

but they also say

"Though the 1996-1998 Mustang GT maintained a similar horsepower output of the earlier cars, the smaller displacement engine 4.6 L engine produced less torque over a smaller range than the older Windsor engine resulting in a significantly slower vehicle."

B.S. the 4.6 will beat a 5.0 at the track stock for stock.

Can't we just let this go already. It's 10 hp and we all know factory ratings are off by at least a little bit, sometimes a lot.

I agree, we all need to admit that 98's are superior in everyway, due to the cool point's stored up by their owners :hammer: .

I will say this, for the fiftieth time, who really cares?

lol, i see it as a challenge... haha 98's are cool but hey i got one. But as far as a 4.6 beating a 5.0 ... yea i see it happen... ive outrun a 5.0 fox body hatch with a 5 speed and i beat him by like 2 car lengths... "stock 98" and then i raced 1/8th with a lx with a shifter, b cam, and 3.73's and i out did his numbers all but the reaction time where he won... "with my mods" so yea, i don't dout it.

Last race i spoke of is in my sig bar...

screw you guys, i like my 98! and yes we are better than the 96-97!!! :knuppel2: :bunny3: :knuppel2:

just kidding. really 10fwhp and 5fwtq is not going to make a difference. i really dont think owning a 98 is any different than owning a 96 or a 97, the only year-specific issue ive ever ran into is the fuel pump. everything else has been the same :dunno:

that was never an issue with me since most companies sell exhausts that have provisions for both the hanger styles. the catback i bought was for models 94-04.
