I have a 95cobra 302 stock block, with TF top end kit (street). my ? is I was thinking of going with a bigger cam and the Edelbrock performer 2
intake and leaving the heads alone is it worth the money for the extra power, if any. and what cam would be a good choice for a street car?
BTW I am also getting 410 gears

I don't think it is worth the difference. That's a lot of work for a gain that will be minimal.

If your willing to go through all of it then I would invest in a custom cam.

Do you have a track heat or street heat intake?

I have the street intake.Right now my HP is 300 TQ is 320 I peek I think at 5400 but then fall off a little faster than I would like I was thinking with the performer 2 I will carry power a little longer and if I were to add n2o later That would help me at the track (wont run out of 4th gear). so there is more to the puzzle than I let on. maybe just do the intake
what do think?

Well the camshaft is more responsible for when your peak power is rpm wise. I would swap camshafts and go with the eddy 2 intake, I know guys have picked up rpm and power with those over a street heat, just depends on your cr ratio and what you want to do with it. Running nitrous with 4.10's is a bad idea unless you are running 1/8 mile.

If you haven't purchased a manifold yet..I would do the HS2 (holley systemax II).

Time and time again it has pulled better numbers then the Performer II. It hasn't by much, but it has made higher numbers.

This is comming from Ed Curtis though. I myself, have not seen anything to back up his statement. I haven't exactly been looking either.

I have not seen what Ed is reporting. I help a pure street racer with his car, and we've logged countless hours on my dyno trying different combos. He says the only way a Holley intake will work well is with about 1k worth of portwork. He ported his edelbrock himself and it pulled the within a few hp or the systemax with all those dollars in portwork. Just one personal experience.

Thanks guys for the info. so if you think I should switch my cam which one? and why is n20 not a good idea with 4.10
gears (IF) I can get enough mph in 4th. right now N/A im just shy of 106mph at 13.12 Im thinking about 10mph more with a 100shot.
does that sound about right?

Like I said, if your gonna get into re-doing the cam/intake..get a custom cam. Ed Curtis (Flowtech Induction) or Jay Allen (camshaft innovations) are 2 good guys to talk to.

As far as why its not a good idea for you to spray with 4.10's is your probably gonna run out of gear with spray.
