Hey i just got the car and it idles around 400 rpms but runs great any other time how would i idle it up a some?

and

When you crank the car up it never catches on the first try it always takes 2 maybe 3 bumps before it will fire up what would be a few things i could do to help this?

98 gt's had a problem with the fuel pump. there is a check valve in the fuel pump that sticks, it doesn't allow fuel pressure to stay in the lines. that's why you have to hit the switch a few times to prime it, so to speak. solution: replace your fuel pump. i had this problem for years & finally talked to a ford mechanic that told me what i just told you. i replaced it, & it's good to go. hope that helped you man....
