I have a 1999 Mustang with a v6. It has a stock exhaust and I was wondering what I could do to get dual pipes without making any real changes. I don't want it to be loud, I really am not big on the way the v6 sounds, I just like dual exhaust and am looking for a simple way to make the single pipe have a buddy.

Any information would be appreciated. I am new to this forum but have fooled around with my own car and others, but have not done much in the way of exhaust. Thanks

I dont really want to replace the muffler or anything. Just something simple. Possibly splitting after the muffler to dual pipes. Not really for performance, just aesthetics, yea I'm weird.

Don't worry too much about a budget at this point, but maybe throw out some kind of an estimate.

That actually came to mind. Would it work or would there be alot of modification. And would this really make it any louder?

To be honest I'm going for a sleeper (though I know it's not fast yet, only had for a few months), but I want the pipes to look nasty and make no noise.

i've never heard of the split after the muffs. you could take the cat back off completely and run a dump right off the stock muffler. or buy a kit to make it a duel.( ck at c j pony parts for that)

When my dad had my exhaust done on my Bronco, (Which is a single exhaust stock btw) he had them cut the old muffler off and put on a new one that had a dual exit and ran the tailpipes out the back. I don't think it was really THAT much either. Go to a muffler shop and ask, best thing to do IMO

I had an ex gf that had a 97 v6 and she wanted duals really badly but didn't want to change the sound of the car. we just picked up some GT take offs and the mount for the drivers side and hung the pipes but only tied in the passenger side pipe, so it had a dummy pipe on it but visually it was nicer. complete rice but its what she wanted.

Well, I guess this is the end of this topic. Went junkyarding today to find a new bumper. Ended up coming across an older sn-95 cobra. I was bummed when the cobra symbols had already been taken. However, the pipes to it from the cats back were just chillin on the ground. Someone had taken them off to pull out the rear end of the car, so it was effortless. Went back to the front desk asked how much for a dual exhaust from a mustang, he said 20 bucks. So I picked up a cobra exhaust, and spent the day mounting one side. I will feel ghetto for doing this but I do think I am just going to dummy pipe the other side for lack of funds.

I am just 17 guys, dont hate me :)

no no no no no ha, i didnt want them to put on my car. I cant stand when people try to be something they are not.

I dont go around trying to race all the people with fast cars because there is no point.
I have a nearly stock v6 mustang, though quick, will get owned by alot of other things.

Cobra symbol would be for making a belt buckle or something ha.

Definitely not a poser ;) Just hope I got that across ha.
