This coming weekend I will be throwing on the new Pi heads and shorty's and have a couple questions. I know how to do the timing, basically anything involved in the PI cam/intake swap. But I am a little nervous about the dipstick tube, egr to manifold bolt, and dropping the heads in with the shorty's bolted on. Will there be any probs dropping the heads in with the shorty's on? How to take out dipstick? What to use on Egr bolt? Can you undo the egr tube from valve and pull it all off with the heads and take the egr to manifold bolt off when head is out? What else is attached to the back of the heads besides the coolant tube? I also have a ford racing headswap kit which came with manifold gaskets, but i also have a set of percy's, which do I use. Sorry about all the questions and I know I wll think of more before I start this on thurs/fri.

Hmmm... Paragraphs man, please!!! :hammer:

1. The heads will go in fine with shortie's bolted up.

2. I took out my dipstick the easy way, I broke it, lol.

3. You can unhook the EGR from the TB, then swap tubes on the bench, that's how I do it.

4. A bracket and some other crap, nothing major.

5. I would use the Percy's, you have 'em. And Stage 8 bolts.

6. I would also get a Lokar dipstick, it not only looks faster, it's easier to use, best 40 bucks you'll sepnd.

+1 to what JR said.

Have fun with the swap.

Another tip is to zip tie the bolts into the heads next to the strut towers, because there's not enough clearance to get them in once the heads are on. I replaced my dipstick too! Man it's a PITA to line it up while holding the head over the deck.

I use heater hose, same thing though. I think it comes in the FRPP kit actually, if I remember right?

I dunno, I just remember having a bunch of little rubber hoses to hold the bolts up for me.
