Put on some 1999 Cobra's I got off craigslist that came with tires...put them on and now and then the ABS comes on, sometimes it won't come on at all and sometimes it'll turn on after a certain speed or length of driving.

Any thoughts?

Last I had both rear ABS sensors replaced when doing the rear wheel bearings so they were rusted in.

Thank you,

Hmmm that's strange, my ABS light seems to come on at highway speeds but sometimes it doesn't which just leaves me questioning, I bought the wheels and put them on myself and didn't balance or anything yet, the fronts are 245 and backs are 255, I had 245's all around on the stock tri-bars so maybe that has to do with something?

abs sensors work magnetically right? maybe there is somthing magnetically charged on the new wheels throwing things off? perhaps a magnetic balancing weight or something

just to make sure, it's the "ABS" light and not the "Brake" light right.
wheel weights are not magnetic.
you could have some metal particals stuck to the sensor from the rotor, different size tires could cause it to come on also.
Dan, what's the size of the tires? IE: 245-45-17

This is what i found to be the case on my old 95 Vert i just took some brake cleaner and sprayed off the little magnet..... I think i have a pic of the sensor also. i just took it out and sprayed a little brake clean on the front of it. The little magnet and wiped it off and it was good to go.
