well, what tool exactly is that? when you take the lines off, isnt it STILL gonna go PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS??

the tool he is refering too is the a/c quick disconnect tool, to remove the lines.. You do have to discharge the system
in some way before you unhook the lines, some just let the freon out of the valve, others with a machine to recycle it.
Letting R134 into the atmosphere isn't nearly as harmful as R12.. that's one of the reasons why auto manf. made the switch,
better for the envir. just in case the vapors do get released, whether by "accident" or, not so much.

Auto manufacturers made the switch from R-12 to R134a because the government mandated the change. The R-12 is harmful to the atmosphere was BS. The ozone layer did not miraculously fix itself because we stopped using R-12, or any other CFC's. All it did was make brake cleaner and other chemicals less effective, and our A/C systems not work as good.

Its not going to save enough weight to matter unless you are building a race car ! Keep the A/C because there are plenty of 10 second rides with it !

Maybe I am...

But really though, it's impeding my front header bolt and it pisses me off... I'm sick of it, it makes the engine bay look cluttered and I'm over it. It's coming off.
