Advanced timing = Better or worse gas mileage?

So you would think that advancing the timing would lead to more power...but probably decrease mpg...my understanding is that more power usually means worse gas mileage.

I know this is not always the case.

Just wondering if anyone has experiance testing differant amounts of timing advance. My timing is advanced quite a bit and I was wondering If I would getter better mpg if I lowered to timing?

It won't be enough to be really noticable...what is yours set at?

i think its 14 degrees up to 2k then 8 degrees 2k to 6k.

I would just leave it at 14.
