so i just bought an afm pms kit and have it hooked up and working properly for everything except for one part. since my motor build the car idles around 650rpm. much to low for my tastes as the car loads up on fuel, chugs, then dies periodically at idle. now i tried going into the idle control menu to raise my idle. here is how it is setup:

-idle control menu
--rpm 850
timing +6 degrees
air +4
start fuel -2

-tp setup
idle setup .8v
WOT set 4.5v
error 10%

here is the scenario, i turn idle control on, and no matter what the rpm is, it automatically jumps it to around 1800rpm. ultimately, i would like it to idle between 800-1000rpm, but no matter what i change in the idle setup menu, it doesnt change, and when i turn the idle control option on, it revs to 1800 regardless of the value rpm. is there something im missing here or an option i havent discovered?

im sorry if this thread is noobish, but the last thing i want to is go changing things without having a damn clue of what im doing, and this seemed to be the easiest way to get an answer.

turn idle control off. shut the motor off then disconnect the iac motor harness. start the motor and set the idle to where you want it with the throttle set screw on the throttle body. shut the car off, hook the iac harness back up then start it u and turn idle control back on. see how that works out for you.
