I'm in the process of replacing my air pump and after removing both bolts, the air pump continues to stay on to this third "hanger". I'm completely clueless on what to use/do to finish taking the air pump off of here. Pictures are of what the air pump is still holding onto. Sorry for cell phone pics, kind of stuck under the car at the moment.

that's a sliding bushing. Give it a shot of PB blaster and clamp on the vice grips and give it a little twist and pull. It doesn't go all the way through.

just food for thought, if you ever plan on using the car on a track I would recommend removing it... this is my air pump after a few laps on a road course.

Wow! that is terrible. Thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely be taking mine off whenever I get the money for an o/r x-pipe. I only did a replacement as I still have all 4 cats on my car, couldn't take the fact they would all probably get clogged if I didn't replace the pump.

you don't need the air pump with the cats. The air pmp just helps the cats heat up faster on a cold start
