To start I often screw around with other cars that like to pull up to me going 80, trucks sometimes too.
The other day I was going 110 at 11 P.M. on the highway with some lifted f-250. It's always fun, and some of us do it, others thinks it's senseless-and it is.

But anyways.
I'm driving and I see in my rearview this fourth generation Camaro. I do the math in my head, either he's running an LT1, or LS1. Either way I'm beat by a lot more cubes and a lot more horsepower. But I figure it would be fun to see how I could keep up with him.
So we start going, and I'm driving at about 90, still accelerating (remembering my max is about 110-115 [all stock]) and he's with me still of course.

Then he slowly starts to back off and reduces to around 70 and I'm thinking. odd, guess he didn't want to?
Well I look infront of me off to the side of the road I see a State Trooper!!

I'm then thinking here comes a huge ass ticket, I brake hard on my already warped uneven rotors and pass by him going 65.
Just my luck, he wasn't even looking at the cars, he was distracted. So I stay at 65, and the Camaro stays around 60 till he can't be seen anymore.

I raise a thumb to the guy out the window and he drives off, I wanted to speed off with but I was too scared the Trooper would come driving. I nearly turned off into a friends salvage yard that was half a mile away to wait and see.

Anyways. Good encounter, could've been a lot of fun.

Have any stories of your own? share

I don't mean to be a downer, but pulling that kidna bullshit is how you're gonna get yourself or another person killed.

yeahhh, I expected posts like that, it's fine. We were the only cars around at the time, the rest of traffic was behind us and I wouldn't do it in the city, that's too much for me and my car.
I understand the safety issue, but I do take into consideration of where I am and whether I should or not, if it makes you feel any better about what I do.

Out here they don't f-around anymore. It's not worth loosing your license or a huge ticket plus additional insurance $.

I take my triple digit speeds to the race track, safer, and you don't end up in handcuffs.

However you sugarcoat it, it's stupid. But if saying the traffic was behind you helps you sleep at night. God forbid you crash and your busted ass car ends up in the street where those cars Behind you are about to drive through... Good call boss. Way to be a badass.

im not gunna lie... i loved street racing when i was younger.
It happens. Who hasn't at some point (if they were young with a sports car) street raced to some extent or of speed.

I'm fine with it, I don't need to form some misguided reasoning behind why it's okay. It's illegal to speed for a reason. I'm very conscious of that.
It was for his concern, not my own for why I 'sugarcoated' it.

On another note, the only track here is a 1/4 mile track. The car's too slow and I don't have the money for any performance perks right now to reach 100mph in an automatic tranny in a quarter mile.

And here they have dodge chargers as the pursuit cars.

You don't have to have a fast car to have some fun at a race track. Some of my funnest track events were with an AOD 86, ran 16.24/.25 on the money. She was a mean bracket racer. Then for some fun I bought a $100 craigslist dry nitrous setup, fill the bottle and hit 13s when I wanted to, but brackets were allways without the juice. We used to go every couple of weeks with a few local club guys/gals.

My best friend is HPD... His daily driver is a Grand National and his wife's is a supercharged Focus. If you ever get pulled over, I hope he's the guy that does it... He may be more lenient depending in car and whether you're an asshole or not. Haha

I dream to build a n/a beast with maybe supercharger (The plan is more in depth in my head of course).

But I stray and look at the 900 dollar powerdyne superchargers, and the 200 or 300 I could put into nitrous.
But it doesn't seem to fit the car or what I want. Though I could easily make the car go 11s for around 1500.
It's also the drive out to there that kills me (it's like an hour, monay monay money).

11s for $1500? Dunno about that. My AOD was cryin' with a 125 shot of spray. 11s is no easy task, specialy when you gotta upgrade more than just the motor, and you're starting out with a 100% stock 95 GT automatic.

Unless you just do a big fuel pump, gears, slicks, and a 250 shot of juice. You may hit 11s ... but you only get 1 run before the motor and tranny grenade.

High 11s yeah. A powerdyne can make upto around 320 horsepower (flywheel). Which is decent, plus the 50 or 100 shot it would send it up. At that point the AOD(E) (in this case) would be dieing, and fuel delivery would be a problem without bigger injectors and pump. But hey, it would work.
Gears would be nice too, and if you hook well enough you wouldn't need slicks, but again, nice to have.
It's possible enough, just a pain to do.

The tranny also is a worry, but mine was rebuilt, not with any harder parts, but it's like new and should live up to the 325 rating if not a bit more, though I wouldn't run it like that, it's just possible.
The motor is 100% fine for those numbers though, I don't see what could hurt it.

The preferred route is oh say 10 grand and ends with a 408w and maybe a TKO. The more likely route is a gt40x economy build with a powerdyne.

But really I'm not even looking for a 11 second car (right now). 12 seconds and I would be satisfied, it would happily allow me to put a few guys I know in place (we race on a closed road, so no worries), just a toyota eclipse, 2005 GTO LS1, 2012 v6, and a turbocharged 95 v6 mustang.

The GTO and Mustang being the hardest troubles.
