Yeah I'm new. Don't even own a Mustang of any kind. I'm still browsing for a nice all black SN95. I currently have a DSM that I'm trying to get rid of, it's a lot faster than a 2V but turbo lag sucks and 4 bangers have no torque below 7000rpm. Ugh.

Lets find you a reason to post more!

So....youre wanting a black sn95, this we know. What about engine choice....pushrod or modular?

Modular fo sho! Probably a 4V if I could find one, I would settle for a 2V but everybody says they're super duper party pooper slow. I haven't driven one yet I still need to sort that out.

If you want fast then you need 03/04 cobra.
The 2v aren't horrible, just add some boost to it. Look at the price difference between 4v and 2v and see if you can get a supercharger for the difference.

I don't need crazy fast, like 350bhp is something I could live with. Hard to justify paying 20K+ for a old Cobra

Thanks for the welcomes tho, surprised how normal everyone is being so far.

I want to get Saleen style rims like every other Mustang guy, and see plenty of them for sale used. Are they knockoffs or what? I bet the originals are like $2k, I don't know if these others are any good. Like Honda guys for example all run Rotas even they they're known to crack easily. Well to be fair I have cracked Enkei's and SSR's before so.. just some knockoffs seem to break wayy too easily. I just don't want the rim to split off the hub when I'm doing a burnout in my neighbors driveway.

The mustang style rep wheels that you can purchase off the major aftermarket sites (American muscle, LMR, CJ pony...) are fine. They are heavy but pretty much the same thing as originals. Unless you specific have a desire for original saleen wheels, the reps are the go to.

Cool that's good to hear. How heavy are them suckers? I never thought about the weight until you mentioned it just here right now, and they are 18" too so damn they might be stones. My SSR rims weighed about 16lbs each and my Enkeis were around 17-18. But those were meant to be light and thin so they cracked easily even though they're forged aluminurm.

You guys are pretty cool on here, at least from my 1 day of existence on this forum. The Camaro guys warned me but I had to see for myself. Now that I think of it, they were kinda jerks.

Mustang wheels are probably bigger compared to your car? 17 or 18s and usually 9"+ width
Weight of the reps are typically mid 20lb or 30lb. American muscle says their saleens are 29lbs for 18x9 and 30lbs for 18x10
lol!!!!

My Work Kiwamis don't seem so heavy now

Goddamn!!!! My SSR IIRC were like 9.5 width and the enkeis were 8 or so. Holy cow man imagine how much weight that adds with tires and everything

Welcome! If I got rid of my car a '99-04 Cobra would be my go-to just because it was the last of the fox chassis and Ford worked most of the kinks out. $5k for a Cobra sounds funny- I would get it looked over by a certified mechanic. 4v's are a ton of fun until you have to replace/rebuild the engine.

He says on the ad that the engine was making a noise before he turned it off and let it sit. I messaged him and asked what noise it made exactly but he seems to be dodging the question.

Welcome, although we've chatted in other threads. That cobra looks like it could be a great deal, however it may be "too good to be true" if the engine is knocking. Depends on your mechanical ability, but I'd weigh the price by considering worst case scenario for the engine.
