I'm looking to kill 3 birds with hopefully one stone, get rid of drone, get rid of the muffler rattle, get the wheel to tip polished tips back (like stock but bigger).  I'm looking at a Flowmaster American Thunder 2-1/2" Cat-Back Exhaust System for my 1998 GT with either polished, SS 2.5" or 3.0" tips.  The kit includes a pair of Flowmaster's Super 44-Series 2-chamber muffs and the SS tips.  I only found one place with the 3.0" tips in the description, but need to confirm what the tips look like.  Anyone have this kit or know if they go back all the way to the wheels?  Thanks!!!

For reference, here is a pic of the stock tips that go all the way back to the wheels and the 3.0" FRPP tips that don't go all the way back.  I love the 3.0" size from the rear view, but not the look from the sides.
Stock (me likey the tips, but could be bigger)

FRPP (me likey the size, but not the length of the polished tips)

Even the 44 series? I personally don't like magnaflows and Borlas - too exotic sounding. I'm looking for a more old school sound that Flowmasters/Bassani gives.

I had 44's welded into a SLP catback, longtubes, no cat's, no drone...

Drone comes from the exhaust combo, not just the muffler.

All flowmasters drone... If you didn't hear it, it's cause it's the sound you were looking for and actually liked it. And the done drone comes from a baffle type muffler without the correct volume of air travel to make it not happen. Which is why welding in 12x2" legs take away the drone.

Nope, it droned with only flowmaster's in the otherwise stock exhaust system. Neither of my Foxes drone with Flowmaster's either.

It happens only a certain times, it is not an automatic thing. Put the muffler's in a certain place, with a certain flow, at a certain speed, thing's happen. Start changing thing's around, and different thing's happen.

Flowmasters are the only exhaust I've ever owned on all my muscle & pony cars. 6 of them btw, all built, all street cars and Everyone of them droned. My 44's , 3 & 2 chambers droned.
