Another gear question

If i get 4.10's installed will it help give me a better top speed or will it just get me there faster? Because it seems like my engine just doesn't have enough power to redline in fourth gear, i have an auto by the way. Like i will get into fourth but i top out at like 3,000 or 3,500 rpms and it just won't go any higher. I have always wondered this about gears. N e 1 got advice or info they would like to shear. thanx

Your acceleration from a stop is going to be amazing. Dropping it into 3rd at 60mph is going to make a lot of exhaust noise and that's about it. Your top speed will suffer also as your RPM's will redline at a lower speed.

Gears lower your top speed. And if you're an auto you won't top out in fourth gear.

yea i hit 145 in the od "4th" gear with the 3.27 stock gears and i was at like 3500/4000. It might be the speed limiter? you thought about that?

Yea i thought it could also be the speed limiter too but i thought it would like shut my engine off for a while like most other cars but i guess it just won't let the car go any faster. I could only get mine up to 125 and it just wouldn't go any faster or maybe it was climbing like a mph very very slowly and i just wasn't paying much attention cause at that speed kind of want to watch the road. But thanx for the info guys. O0

yeah they dont cut off, its just makes it where you cant increase speed. Trust me when i hit 120 it feels
like im hittin a brick wall when it hits the limiter. Oh and about the 4.10's, on a street car you probably
dont have to worry about ever redlining at top speed with them. Im sure those gears will still go up past 155.
When i do my gearswap im goin to 3.73's, i do way too much highway drivin to pull 4.10's


p.s. forgot to add im drivin a T-45 so my situation is a little different from yours
